39. ANNIVIERS - BARRAGE DE MOIRY

Surrounded by peaks over 4000 m high, the Val d’Anniviers is an Alpine valley that links Sierre with the resorts of St-Luc, Chandolin, Zinal, Grimentz and Vercorin. A valley of striking natural beauty, shaped by deep-rooted traditions. With its expanded range of activities (walks, climbing, via ferrata), its restaurant and its striking surroundings, the whole of the region of Moiry has become a leading destination of the Val d’Anniviers. The imposing Moiry dam, 148 metres high, dominates the end of the Vallon de Moiry. As you take the 8 km road linking it with Grimentz you are struck by the visual spectacle of this huge concrete structure. But once on top of the dam, you discover a stunning panorama and a varied range of activities and sights.
